Penn State Harrisburg to host site for June institute on equity

Faculty, staff and administrators at all regional universities and colleges are invited to form teams and register for the third annual Summer Institute for Equity in the Academic Experience, set for a hybrid format June 13-15. Penn State Harrisburg will serve as a regional gathering location for the Summer Institute.

$1.2 million NSF grant awarded to help recruit and retain diverse math teachers

Researchers led by Jane Wilburne, professor of mathematics education in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Behavioral Sciences and Education, have been awarded a $1.2 million National Science Foundation grant to recruit, prepare and retain a diverse workforce of secondary mathematics teachers who are skilled at implementing culturally responsive instruction.

Criminal justice professor's new book looks at gender and crime

Shauntey James, assistant teaching professor of criminal justice in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Public Affairs, has published a new book, “The History, Evolution, and Current State of Female Offenders: Recommendations for Advancing the Field,” with co-author Alana Van Gundy.
