Penn State Harrisburg MLK campus play series to present 'Provenance'

Penn State Harrisburg will debut a performance of “Provenance” at noon on Jan. 18 in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This year marks the 23rd year for the campus play series, which each year presents an original production centering on African-American history in celebration of the MLK Day holiday.

Berenson to discuss his book 'The Accusation: Blood Libel in an American Town’

Edward Berenson, professor and chair of the history department at New York University, will present a lecture based on his 2019 book, “The Accusation: Blood Libel in an American Town.” The event will be held via webinar at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. His book is about a rare instance of blood libel in the United States that happened in Massena, New York in 1928 when a child went missing and the local Jews were blamed.

Applied clinical psychology students get real-world career counseling experience

A course in career counseling allowed second year master’s students in Penn State Harrisburg’s applied clinical psychology program to conceptualize how the world of work and mental health influence one another. The students worked in pairs over the spring semester to research and produce methods of helping community members seek guidance for their careers.

Take the Penn State Community Survey beginning Feb. 3

On Feb. 3, all students, faculty and staff members at every Penn State campus location will receive an email to take the Penn State Community Survey to share their attitudes and experiences of community, diversity and inclusion at Penn State. Every 100 survey takers will have a chance to win an Amazon or Starbucks gift card.

Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company to perform at Penn State Harrisburg

As part of the Mukund S. Kulkarni Cultural Series, Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company will perform “Song of the Phoenix” to celebrate the Asian New Year. The performance will take place at Penn State Harrisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the Mukund S. Kulkarni Theatre (SEC Building).
