Faculty, staff and administrators at all regional universities and colleges are invited to form teams and register for the third annual Summer Institute for Equity in the Academic Experience, set for a hybrid format June 13-15. Penn State Harrisburg will serve as a regional gathering location for the Summer Institute.
Penn State’s Institute for Computational and Data Sciences has awarded eight seed grants to bolster computational and data science research projects throughout the University. The support will benefit researchers from five Penn State campuses studying topics ranging from weather prediction to forecasting mortgage loan closures to exploring engineering approaches for battery materials.
Penn State Harrisburg has selected six graduates to serve as student marshals at the spring 2022 commencement ceremony on May 7. The graduates will bear the banners representing each academic school and, together with the faculty marshals, lead the graduating students during the ceremony processional.

Marcha Reumel, an assistant commissioner of the national police in her home country of Suriname, came to Penn State as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow and connected with the Justice and Safety Institute, which provides law enforcement training at the local, regional, state and federal levels.
Penn State Harrisburg will hold its spring 2022 commencement ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Ted Kauffman, alumnus and chairman of Kauffman Holdings, will be the keynote speaker.
