To celebrate Black History Month and highlight African American authors, the Office of Student Life at Penn State Harrisburg will host an African American Read-In on Tuesday, February 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Oliver LaGrone Cultural Arts Center, Olmsted Building on campus.
Dr. Sai Kakuturu, associate professor of civil engineering from Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Science, Engineering, and Technology will present "Why do sinkholes form? Why do dams/levees break? New insights using x-ray microCT" on Wednesday, February 15 from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.
As part of Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Behavioral Sciences and Education’s Colloquium Series, Dr. Joel Spring, an education professor at Queens College and the Graduate Center in Queens, New York, will present “From Education and the Rise of the Corporate State To Education in the Trump Era” on Wednesday, February 8 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Penn State Harrisburg will host the second in a series of public forums focused on implementing the University’s long-range Strategic Plan on Thursday, February 9 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the library Morrison Gallery on campus. The topic of the forum will be “Enhancing Health.”

Students from 17 local middle schools will gather at Penn State Harrisburg’s Capital Union Building for the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineer’s 33rd annual MATHCOUNTS competition on Saturday, February 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Enjoy a round of golf while supporting local athletes at the 7th annual Penn State Harrisburg golf tournament, presented by Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster. This year’s tournament will be held Monday, May 22, 2017. The tournament was originally scheduled for September 30, 2016, but was postponed due to severe weather.
Penn State faculty interested in exploring the basics of grantseeking are invited to take part in an online workshop, “Getting Started in Grants,” on Friday, February 3, from 12:15 to 1 p.m.
