Penn State Harrisburg faculty and staff will discuss their works published during the past year at the college’s annual Creativity, Publishing, and Book Signing Celebration on Thursday, March 22 at 3 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge.
Penn State Harrisburg faculty members Glen A. Mazis, professor of humanities and philosophy, and Richard Young, professor of supply chain management, have been named distinguished professors by the Penn State Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.
Penn State Harrisburg presented Alumni Achievement Awards to one graduate of each of the five academic schools who demonstrates outstanding professional accomplishment. The awards were presented during the Alumni Awards Dinner in October 2017.
Penn State Harrisburg student Maggie Mehalko and her fellow team members won their case category during the KPMG sponsored Team Case Competition at the Beta Gamma Sigma 2017 Global Leadership Summit in Orlando, Florida. Mehalko was the first Penn State Harrisburg student to attend the summit.
Dr. Meng-Hua Hsieh will present “The Influence of Power on Health Decisions” on Wednesday, January 31 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.
Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Business Administration now offers an option for bachelor of science candidates in accounting, finance, information systems, management, marketing, and project and supply chain management to enroll in an integrated, continuous program of study leading to both the bachelor’s degree, as well as a master of business administration (MBA).
Richard Young, professor of supply chain management in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Business Administration, collaborated with Jeremy Plant, professor emeritus of public policy in the college’s School of Public Affairs, and retired Lt. Col. Gary Gordon, adjunct professor at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, on a book titled "Railway Security: Protecting Against Manmade and Natural Disasters," which provides an overview and assessment of the risks facing railways and rail networks.
