You are an incoming first year student applicant if you are …

  • a high school student graduating this academic year or
  • a high school graduate not yet at Penn State who has attempted 17 or less college credits since graduation.

You are a transfer applicant if you are …

  • a high school graduate not yet at Penn State who has attempted 18 or more college credits since graduation.

You are a current Penn State student applicant if you are …

  • already enrolled in classes as a degree student at Penn State, including change of campus students

Capital College Honors Program 

Incoming First Year Students

  • Applications accepted starting: February 1, 2025
  • Early decision deadline: April 3, 2025 with a decision by April 20. Must apply by April 3 for the guaranteed on-campus housing option if accepted.
  • Regular deadline: April 26, 2025 with decision by May 31, 2025.
  • Materials: Incoming First Year Student web application, personal statement, letter of recommendation

Transfer Applicants

  • Applications accepted starting: March 15, 2025
  • Deadline: July 15, 2025 for 2025-2026 (decisions made by July 31)
  • Materials: Transfer Student Web Application, personal statement, letter of recommendation, copy of college transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)

Current Penn State Students

  • Deadline
    • Fall 2024 - December 7, 2024 (for acceptance for the Spring 2025 semester)
    • Spring 2025 - April 26, 2025 (for acceptance for the Fall 2024 semester)
  • Materials: Current Penn State Student web application, personal statement, two faculty references
