The post-baccalaureate certification program in Secondary Education General Science is part of the Master of Education degree program in Teaching and Curriculum. The certification program designed for an individual who holds a baccalaureate degree and wishes to become certified to teach science in Pennsylvania secondary schools (grades 7-12). Applicants are admitted into the M.Ed. degree program with priority given to certification-required coursework. Students who successfully complete the program requirements will be recommended for the Secondary General Science Instructional I teaching certificate. Students may complete their master’s degree coursework after completing all required certification courses.
The program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
Degree Conferred: This program is for attaining PA teacher certification. An M.Ed. degree in Teaching and Curriculum may be attained after certification coursework has been completed.
