Penn State Harrisburg will host a virtual presentation by 2020-21 Penn State Laureate David Witwer from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22. Witwer will present “Searching for Jimmy Hoffa: The Disappearance of America’s Most Notorious Labor Leader and Why It Still Matters Today.”
Dan Mallinson, assistant professor of public policy and administration in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Public Affairs, has been awarded the 2019 American Political Science Association’s Theodore J. Lowi Award for the best article published last year in Policy Studies Journal.
Penn State released its preliminary coronavirus testing results for the period of Oct. 9 to 15 on its COVID-19 dashboard today (Oct. 16). The University Park campus received 129 positive on-demand test results and six positive random test results from student testing during the period of Oct. 9 to 15. As of Oct. 15 at University Park, there are 334 active student cases and 3,114 students have completed their isolation period and are no longer active cases.

Penn State Harrisburg has announced the recipients of the college’s annual Alumni Achievement Awards. One graduate from each of the college’s five academic schools earned the accolade thanks to their outstanding professional accomplishments.
The Office of Research and Outreach at Penn State Harrisburg has announced six inaugural research seed grant proposals to be funded through the college’s new Exploration and Analysis Grants for Expanded Research [EAGER] program. The goal of the program is to provide support for full-time Penn State Harrisburg faculty members to pursue external research funding opportunities.
Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Public Affairs will present a panel discussion titled "Ambidexterity: Supporting the police while seeking reforms" from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 via Zoom. The discussion will focus on the national debate on policing and policing reforms.
