For the twelfth consecutive year, PenOwl Productions and Penn State Harrisburg partnered to celebrate the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as the nation celebrated the civil rights leader’s birthday.

The January 18 production before a capacity audience in the Olmsted Auditorium looked back at the 11 past performances – all written and directed by Assistant Professor of Sociology Dorothy King, the founder of PenOwl.

Engineers Week Council to honor faculty member

For the fourth time in five years, a Penn State Harrisburg electrical engineering faculty member will be honored for his accomplishments by the Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council.

Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering Sedig Agili has just been named the recipient of the Council’s 2010 Technical Achievement Award in recognition of his commitment to students, community outreach, and research accomplishments.

Faculty forum will lend perspective to U.S. recession

The next installment in the Penn State Harrisburg series of academic perspectives on current events will feature an in-depth look at the current U.S. recession.

A panel of five faculty members from the college’s School of Business Administration will discuss “The U.S. Recession: Is it over? Where do we go from here?” at noon Wednesday, Feb. 3 in the Gallery Lounge of the Olmsted Building. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Elaine Williams battled eating disorders for 14 years. She now shares her personal story in an effort to warn others of the dangers

Now a certified life coach and an eating disorder survivor, Williams will share her story with both humor and inspiration from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at Penn State Harrisburg.

College offering SAT Prep course

Penn State Harrisburg is offering the New SAT Exam Prep Course to students in grades 9 through 12 on six consecutive Saturdays, January 30 through March 6.

The course will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on each day in the Educational Activities Building on campus.
