Lunar New Year Celebration to Celebrate the Year of the Horse

Penn State Harrisburg will mark the Year of the Horse with a Lunar New Year Celebration on Friday, February 7 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building auditorium.  Local artisans and college students will present a variety of performances such as the Lion Dance, poetry recitals, Chinese classic dances, Korean songs, Chinese folk songs, ancient instruments and martial arts demonstrations.

Russell E. Horn: a champion for students

Russell E. Horn, a 1933 civil engineering graduate had a lifelong love for Penn State.  This was evident from the time he stepped on campus at University Park in 1929 and through his generous gifts, as recent as his 2012 leadership gift of $1 million to support the construction of a student enrichment center at Penn State Harrisburg.  The $27 million, 58,600-square-foot project which will house offices that provide key services for undergraduate and graduate students that currently are in various locations across campus.

College honors Alumni Achievement Award winners

Penn State Harrisburg recently presented Alumni Achievement Awards to one graduate of each of the five academic schools who demonstrates outstanding professional accomplishment. The awards, bestowed during the Alumni Awards Dinner in October, honor a diverse collection of talents and accomplishments from across the college.
