Heidi Abby Moyer, associate librarian and coordinator or archives and special collections at Penn State Harrisburg, presented a research paper titled "Teaching the 'F Word' to the Next Generation: The Intersection of Archives, Women's History, and Fourth-Wave Feminism" at the Oxford Women’s Leadership Symposium (OWLS) at Somerville College, Oxford University in August.
Dr. Esfakur Rahman, lecturer in mechanical engineering in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Science, Engineering, and Technology, will present “Joining of Metallic Alloys using Transient Liquid Phase (TLP) Diffusion Bonding Method” on Wednesday, October 12 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.
On October 5, Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Science, Engineering, and Technology (SSET) held its first career fair. The fair attracted more than 60 employers from local, regional and national industry leaders including TE Connectivity, Exelon, Metso Minerals, and Reynolds Enterprises.

Penn State Harrisburg today held the Capital Region Internship Fair in the Capital Union Building on campus. The event featured more than 95 employers across several industries and drew more than 400 students.
Penn State Harrisburg will host an Undergraduate Open House on Saturday, October 15 at 9 a.m. in the Capital Union Building on campus.
The event will provide information to prospective students about the college’s more than 30 bachelor’s degree programs, as well as options for completing the first two years of study leading to more than 160 undergraduate majors offered throughout Penn State.
Author Lori Jakiela, known as “the queen of the wise one-liner,” will visit Penn State Harrisburg as part the School of Humanities’ Writers Series on Monday, October 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Kunkle Auditorium, Olmsted Building.
Lisa Allen, grants and contracts administrator, in Penn State Harrisburg’s Office of Research and Outreach, is the 2016 recipient of the Penn State Administrative Committee on Research (ACOR) Outstanding Service Award. Allen received the award at the ACOR annual retreat in August. It recognizes her efforts that go above and beyond to support the research enterprise at Penn State Harrisburg.
