The School of Public Affairs hosted the first Student Research Day in October 2018. The day-long event was hosted by graduate assistants in library Morrison Gallery on campus and consisted of various workshops, including what makes a research poster visually appealing, what skills to utilize when presenting a poster, and how to develop a research proposal and disseminate the results.
Emily Baxter, founder and executive director of the organization We Are All Criminals (WAAC), a non-profit organization dedicated to challenging society’s perceptions of what it means to be “criminal,” will speak at Penn State Harrisburg on November 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the library Morrison Gallery.
Since the 2016 election, most Pennsylvanians have maintained a positive perception of federal and state government; however, public opinion has shifted significantly to reveal a lower overall satisfaction with the federal government’s performance in delivering services such as transportation, parks and recreation, responding to natural disasters, and keeping people safe.
Jonathan Lee, associate professor of criminal justice in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Public Affairs, will present “Quantitative Approaches to Understanding Criminal Behavior” from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 in the Morrison Gallery (Library Room 101) on campus.
Penn State Harrisburg recently presented Alumni Achievement Awards to one graduate of each of the five academic schools who demonstrates outstanding professional accomplishment. The awards were presented during a ceremony on campus on Sept. 21. Awardees included Stephen Guillard, Judy Hricak, William Pugh, Jay Spector and Susan Steele.
