Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 conditions around the country and in Pennsylvania, effective immediately (Aug. 4), Penn State will require all students, faculty, staff and visitors — including those who are vaccinated and unvaccinated — to wear masks indoors at all campuses. Within the last 24 hours, many counties that are home to Penn State campuses have shifted to “orange” status, warranting an immediate adjustment to the University’s on-campus masking requirement.
The library building at Penn State Harrisburg has been named the Madlyn L. Hanes Library in honor of the University’s senior vice president for Commonwealth Campuses and executive chancellor, who will retire from Penn State on Aug. 1.
Penn State has extended its deadline for students to respond to an anonymous survey about their current COVID-19 vaccination status or plans to get vaccinated before the start of the fall semester. While student response to the survey has been strong, the deadline has been extended to allow students who may be traveling or are in various locations an opportunity to respond.
