The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) named both the Penn State Harrisburg Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams to the ITA All-Academic Team. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
Along with the impressive team honors, athletes from the Penn State Harrisburg tennis teams were awarded individual honors as well. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must be a varsity letter winner and have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale). John Dixon (Lemoyne, PA/Cedar Cliff), Evgeny Matigullin (Duncannon, PA/Susquenita) and Donald Smith (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) were named ITA Scholar Athletes from the men’s tennis team. Caitlin Royer (Mount Joy, PA/Donegal), Jessica Karl (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East), Carla Martin (Manheim, PA/Home Schooled) and Meghin Moore (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) were named ITA Scholar Athletes from the women’s tennis team.
