Penn State Harrisburg graduate Robert D. Jackson’s many years of service as a human resource professional has been saluted with a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development.
Jackson, who earned a master’s degree in Training and Development from the college in 1994, is a state Office of Administration employee with more than 20 years of experience in employee training and human resources. He was one of six finalists for the award.
“This award represents peer recognition of Bob’s contribution to the society and to the industry,” said Dale Fallon, president of the Central Pennsylvania chapter. “He is an outstanding example to others in this profession.”
Jackson joined the chapter in 1986 and served in numerous roles including chapter president in 1991 and 2001. He joined the Commonwealth in 2001 as a human resource analyst with the Department of Transportation’s Center for Performance Excellence. In 2005, he moved to the Office of Administration’s Bureau of Workforce Planning and Development as director of the Pennsylvania Management Associate Program. In July, he was named director of the Keystone Academy for Learning, a human resource professional development and skill-building program scheduled to begin in 2009.
