“Truth and Deception” is the theme of Penn State Harrisburg’s popular public International Film Festival which begins an eight-day, nine-movie run Wednesday, March 19.
The eighth annual series, free and open to the public, is hosted by the college’s School of Humanities and sponsored by the Penn State Harrisburg Student Activity Fee Fund. This year it features films from Denmark, Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and Mexico
A public “Boobies Ball” to fund cancer awareness and research is coming to Penn State Harrisburg Friday, March 28.
All proceeds raised at the 8 p.m. to midnight dance in the Capital Union Building will be donated to the Middletown-based Feel Your Boobies Foundation. The third annual fund-raiser is sponsored and hosted by the college’s student Lion Ambassador organization.
The cost is $5 per person and music will be provided by a local DJ.

Penn State Harrisburg is bringing bachelor’s degree study in civil engineering to the capital region.
The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering will be available to students beginning this summer and is being introduced to fill an identified need in the region.
First– and second-year students can now begin to schedule courses needed to prepare for the major, but junior–level status students will not be able to begin the major until fall 2009.
For most college students, the holiday break in December and January means extended time at home with family and friends.
But for 11 Penn State students, the holiday break turned into a remarkable learning experience in India.
