The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present a free workshop titled “We're Going to Need a Bigger Boat — Constructively Addressing Controversial Issues in the Classroom” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 26. The workshop will take place online via zoom meeting or in person at C213 Olmsted Building at Penn State Harrisburg.
Penn State Harrisburg has added Cuba to its spring 2018 international study tour offerings. The tour, which is available for the first time since diplomatic relations were reestablished between Cuba and the United States, will take place March 2 through 9 and focus on the exploration and discovery of the unique facets of Cuban culture.
David Witwer, professor of American studies and history, and Catherine Rios, associate professor of communications and humanities, from Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Humanities, will present “A Murder in the Garment District: Labor Racketeering 101" on Sept. 27.
As part of the Penn State Reads campaign for the 2017-18 year, Penn State Harrisburg is kicking off the celebration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, in the Morrison Gallery library.
