Penn State Harrisburg’s Professional Sales Education Center has been recognized as an associate member of the University Sales Center Alliance, a designation that will create additional opportunities for students studying sales at the college.
Joy Tac LLC, a student startup from Penn State Harrisburg, won first place and $15,000 in the 2025 Invent Penn State Inc.U Competition. As a kickoff to Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC, six student teams from four Penn State campuses pitched their startups to a panel of judges, competing for prizes totaling $30,000 in funding.
Penn State Harrisburg’s Office of Research and Outreach will host the third annual Research and Discovery Day and the Research Impact Challenge on April 9 to showcase research and scholarly activities at the college. The event is free and open to public. Registration is not required.
On April 23, Penn State University Libraries’ Office of Scholarly Communications and Copyright will present a workshop for Penn State Harrisburg faculty on avoiding predatory publishers. The workshop will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Morrison Gallery at Madlyn L. Hanes Library, Penn State Harrisburg.

Penn State Harrisburg alums Doug Knull and Evelyn Toro Knull donated a bronze bust of Oliver LaGrone, an African American sculptor, poet and educator, that was sculpted by Ruth Fackler Sourbeer, an artist and Doug Knull’s grandmother. The bust is now on display in the Oliver LaGrone Cultural Arts Center, in the college’s Olmsted Building.
Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Science, Engineering, and Technology was awarded a $282,770 grant from the Office of Naval Research to help purchase a high-end instrument that will support research at the college’s Center for Signal Integrity.
The Center for Holocaust and Jewish Studies at Penn State Harrisburg will present two webinar events in April, featuring speakers Shira Klein on April 7 and Elizabeth R. Baer on April 16.
