Maria A. Turkson, assistant teaching professor of psychology at Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Behavioral Sciences and Education, will lead an interactive discussion and presentation to bring awareness to domestic violence from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in room W338 in the Olmsted Building on campus.
As part of this year’s Penn State Harrisburg Reads campaign lecture series, centered around Rebecca Skloot’s groundbreaking book, "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," the campus will welcome Dr. Joshua Kesterson to present a timeline of cervical cancer’s history from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, in the library Morrison Gallery on campus.
Penn State Harrisburg recently presented Alumni Achievement Awards to one graduate of each of the five academic schools who demonstrates outstanding professional accomplishment. The awards were presented during a ceremony on campus on Sept. 21. Awardees included Stephen Guillard, Judy Hricak, William Pugh, Jay Spector and Susan Steele.
