Sometimes, students run out of options when faced with an emergency. This was never more apparent than on and after April 3, 2016, when a devastating fire occurred at the Village of Pineford apartments in Middletown, a home to many of Penn State Harrisburg’s students. Immediately following the fire, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members asked how they could help students who lost everything.
Dr. Jane Wilburne, associate professor of mathematics and education, received a Pennsylvania Department of Education grant to co-direct the "Central Pennsylvania Mathematics Content and Coaching Project." The $679,453 grant was awarded to the Lincoln Intermediate Unit and Penn State Harrisburg.
Recent research updates include faculty-authored articles and other contributions, presentations, and the award of a highly competitive dissertation fellowship to a Penn State Harrisburg Ph.D. candidate.
Penn State Harrisburg welcomed more than 1,050 freshman students to campus at the recent New Student Convocation, marking the largest incoming freshman class in the college’s history.
Students who are new to Penn State and all students living in University housing are reminded that they must submit their immunization records using myUHS through a new three-step process. As part of this process, students who do not submit their immunization records prior to Sept. 15 will be unable to register for spring 2017 classes.
