This semester, Penn State Harrisburg School of Business Administration marketing students competed in a case presentation challenge at a regional conference of the American Marketing Association hosted by Penn State’s Smeal College of Business. This was the first time Penn State Harrisburg marketing students participated in the event.
Dr. Felicia Brown-Haywood, director of Penn State Harrisburg Student Affairs, has been awarded the Penn State Commission for Women’s Achieving Women Award in the administrator category.
Beginning May 14, Penn State students, faculty and staff will start receiving emails inviting them to add their emergency contact information to PSUAlert, the University’s new emergency alerts system. As announced earlier this year, Penn State is transitioning to PSUAlert, away from the current emergency messaging service known as PSUTXT.
Dr. Kathryn Robinson, director of Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Humanities and professor of theatre and humanities, a native of Beaver, PA, was recently inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Theatre at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
Penn State Harrisburg’s new chapter of the International English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta, inducted its first members on April 14. Twenty English majors with a GPA of 3.00 or better in their English courses were welcomed into the society.
Engineering students will display innovative technologies representing the future of their field at Penn State Harrisburg’s third annual Engineering Capstone Design Conference on Friday, May 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm at various locations on campus.
Penn State Harrisburg police report receiving an unspecified, non-specific bomb threat, stating, "Bomb on campus 6:00." University Police do not believe this threat to be credible but are conducting cursory searches of campus buildings.

The Keystone Health Promotion Conference, hosted by Penn State Harrisburg, will explore all areas of health and personal wellness for health promotion professionals, and will feature three nationally renowned keynote speakers, including Ben Glenn, “The Chalkguy.” The conference will be held at the college, June 17 to 19.
David Puglia (Frederick, MD), lecturer and Ph.D. candidate in American studies at Penn State Harrisburg, has received the University’s Harold F. Martin Graduate Assistant Outstanding Teaching Award for 2013-14.
The award recognizes excellence in teaching by graduate students.
