As a reminder, a large portion of the Penn State Harrisburg campus is now a tobacco-free zone.
The area bounded by Penn State Way, College Avenue, and Olmsted Drive (the central core of campus) is now tobacco free. This includes Ziegler Commons, Vartan Plaza, and the athletic fields. Signage is being placed informing faculty, staff, students, and visitors to campus of the tobacco-free zone.
As curators of the acclaimed Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Frank Goodyear and Anne Collins Goodyear, were at the forefront of the extensive renovation of the collection’s landmark home in Washington, D.C.
The Goodyears will deliver a presentation, “Revisiting American History: The New National Portrait Gallery” Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gallery Lounge at Penn State Harrisburg. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Javier Mendoza, named the best Latin Artist in St. Louis for 2006, brings his Spanish American sounds to Penn State Harrisburg for a 4:30 p.m. concert Wednesday, Sept. 26.

The expansion of Penn State Harrisburg’s intercollegiate athletic program took another noteworthy step today (Wednesday, Aug. 22) with the formal dedication of its new baseball field.
A public lecture focusing on legends of the origin of Polish Jews comes to Penn State Harrisburg Tuesday, Sept. 25.

He is not white. He is black. Yet, Klan-Destine Relationships musician and author Daryl Davis has come in closer contact with members of the Ku Klux Klan than most white non-members and certainly most blacks.
And he continues to do so, making him one of the most unique lecturers on the college speaking circuit today.
The popular Sunday Latin dance classes at Penn State Harrisburg are returning September 16.
The free lessons, open to the public, have proven to be popular with community residents since their inception two years ago.
Lessons under the direction of Loida Esbri will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on consecutive Sundays through October 21 in the Multipurpose Room of the Capital Union Building on campus.
Esbri also coordinates a local dance group called Forlanco.
A native of Philadelphia, Romont Harris got his first taste of the spotlight while in high school, where he reigned as the unofficial class clown.
Since then, he has taken his comedic talents on the road where he has become a popular performer entertaining audiences with a "well-rounded show of comedy, song, and dance."
Age-group competitive swimmers in the area will have the opportunity to receive instruction from Olympic Gold Medalist Josh Davis when Penn State Harrisburg's aquatics center hosts a clinic Saturday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 5 p.m.
