Be sure to refer to the Suggested Academic Plan and consult with your adviser regarding the proper sequence of courses.
Courses designed and selected to add substantial depth in the areas of user characteristics and their impact on designing useful and usable systems, such as Foundations of Human-Centered Design and Development (HCDD 113) and Design Practice in HCDD (HCDD 264). In addition, Methods for Studying Users Course (HCDD 36dW) will provide skills for students to be able to analyze and respond to users’ needs. Graduates of this program will be able to design, conduct, and interpret analytic and empirical studies to identify and understand opportunities for new technologies; design and develop both low-and high-fidelity prototypes and applications to address these opportunities; and then evaluate the efficacy of these technologies in both controlled (laboratory) and field settings.
