Penn State Harrisburg to host 2024 MLK commemorative banquet

Penn State Harrisburg will host its 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. commemorative banquet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey. The event's theme — "Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?" — is based on King’s 1967 book of the same name, which advocated for human rights and a sense of hope.

Penn State Harrisburg to hold fall 2023 commencement Dec. 16

Penn State Harrisburg will hold its fall 2023 commencement ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Giant Center in Hershey. Vice president of emergency services for the Mount Sinai Health System and Penn State alumnus Robin Ferrer will serve as keynote speaker at the ceremony.

Harrisburg first-generation students ‘build a path for others to follow’

Penn State Harrisburg recently held events to celebrate first-generation students, connect them with resources, and help them meet first-generation faculty and staff who are available to help them. First-generation students Juan Serrano and Raulybel Perez worked with a committee of Student Affairs staff members to plan the events.

Class of 2024 votes to establish the UPUA Basic Needs Endowment

At an event held on Oct. 31, leaders from the Student Philanthropy Network announced that the class of 2024 has voted to create the University Park Undergraduate Association Basic Needs Endowment as their class gift. The fund will provide sustained support for students facing hardships in pursuit of their degree.
