On Friday, September 25, 2015, golfers took to the links at Colonial Golf and Tennis Club for the 6th annual Penn State Harrisburg Golf Tournament, presented by Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster. The event featured exciting contests and prizes, with all proceeds directed to support the strategic growth of Penn State Harrisburg’s 16 NCAA athletic teams.
As part of Penn State Harrisburg’s faculty seminar series, Dr. Spero Lappas, lecturer in the School of Public Affairs, will present "The Embarrassment of Innocence: America's Problem with Wrongful Convictions" on Wednesday, December 2 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge.
Dr. Shaun Gabbidon, distinguished professor of criminal justice in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Public Affairs, received the 2015 Julius Debro Award, given by the American Society of Criminology’s Division on People of Color and Crime (DPCC).
Project Management expert Carl Pritchard recently visited Penn State Harrisburg and presented students in the School of Business with information about the project management industry, as well as how to communicate and network within the field. His presentation gave students the opportunity to hear from a world renowned industry expert.
Dr. Simon J. Bronner, chair of the American studies program and distinguished professor of American studies and folklore, recently received the Kenneth Goldstein Award for Lifetime Academic Leadership from the American Folklore Society at its annual meeting in Long Beach, California.
Penn State Harrisburg will host the fourth annual South-Central PA Robotics Competition on November 14, starting at 8 a.m. in the Educational Activities Building on campus.
The event is designed to strengthen relationships between the region’s students and educators in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines and includes middle school, high school and college level students.

An introduction to campus resources that help you further develop your innovative ideas” on Wednesday, November 11 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.
Penn State Harrisburg has been named a 2016 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs® and Military Spouse. This is the fifth consecutive year that the college has been named to the list.
The college was chosen based on Victory media’s criteria of key programs and policies, such as military support on campus, graduation and employment outcomes, and military spouse policies.
The Capital Area Writing Project (CAWP) at Penn State Harrisburg, an affiliate of the National Writing Project (NWP), is growing as teachers from 21 school districts, 37 schools, across 7 counties in Pennsylvania are represented in 2015-2016 Fellowship.
