Sing On 2025: The Keystone Collegiate Choral Festival – 2:30-5 p.m., April 26, Mukund S. Kulkarni Theatre, Student Enrichment Center. Featuring Penn State Harrisburg, Alvernia University, and Wilson College. Admission is free .
Events
Academic Learning Center Groundbreaking Ceremony – 2-3:30 p.m., April 22, field adjacent to the Student Enrichment Center. (In the case of inclement weather: Events Room, 210 Capital Union Building.) Groundbreaking for the new 47,000-square-foot Academic Learning Center facility that will offer advanced classrooms and collaborative spaces, forming a new academic quad and serving as a hub for interdisciplinary learning across the college.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Networking Night – 6:30-8 p.m., April 22, Morrison Gallery, 101 Madlyn L. Hanes Library. An evening of networking with peers who serve PA children who are deaf, hard of hearing or deafblind. A "Vision Board" craft will be led by Karen Skoczynski, deaf artist. Hosted by Penn State Health Audiology and Family Connections for Language & Learning. Cost is $5 to cover the craft. RSVP to [email protected].
Truist Empowered Entrepreneur Executive Seminar Series: 90 Second Quick Pitch – 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., April 23, Events Room, 210 Capital Union Building. Harrisburg LaunchBox, Truist Foundation and Penn State Harrisburg will convene diverse leaders in the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem. Hear from the student startup community! Up to 10 teams will deliver a 90-second value proposition pitch. Open to faculty, staff, students and community entrepreneurs. Registration requested.
Night of Remembrance – 6-7 p.m., April 24, Spiritual Center, 210 Student Enrichment Center. A livestream of the Night of Remembrance vigil in University Park will be shown. The annual vigil allows students and other community members to come together, reflect, and honor students who passed away during the 2024-25 academic year from every campus, including Penn State Harrisburg. The candlelight service will provide an opportunity for reflection and remembrance for all students, faculty, and staff.
American Studies Symposium – 12:15-5:30 p.m., April 25, Morrison Gallery, 101 Madlyn L. Hanes Library. This symposium features presentations by current American Studies graduate students and culminates with a keynote lecture from visual artist and scholar Ashley Minner.
Nursing Health Fair – 9 a.m.-2 p.m., April 25, Gallery Lounge, W107 Olmsted Building.
At the fair, attendees will be able to engage with nursing students about health issues and information important to college-aged students and adults.

"Women as Food: An Exhibition on Depictions of Women as Edible Objects" – Through April 29, third floor, Madlyn L. Hanes Library. Featuring original color postcards from the archives' largest collection, this exhibition explores and challenges historical stereotypes of women as chickens, peaches, sweets, and other food puns as highlighted in printed ephemera from the Alice Marshall Women's History Collection. The exhibition was curated by Payton Becker, archives graduate student assistant and American studies doctoral student at Penn State Harrisburg. It can be viewed when the library is open. The 2nd Student Art Exhibition – Until May 5, first floor Art Wall, Madlyn L. Hanes Library. Curated with the assistance of Denise Saunders in the School of Humanities and the Archives Team, Katelyn M. Miller and Payton Becker, this student art exhibition will feature 10 charcoal drawings and self-portraits created by students in the School of Humanities.
The Classroom and Beyond: Student Life at Penn State Harrisburg – Through August 2025, first floor, Madlyn L. Hanes Library. This exhibit celebrates students and the evolution of student life at Penn State Harrisburg, including materials from the College History Archives. "The Classroom and Beyond," features over 30 unique items that date from the mid-1960s to the present, organized in seven different categories: academics, alumni, athletics, international students, student clubs, student publications, and the Harrisburg Rock Festival, which was a campus tradition from 1970 until 1978.
Archives and Special Collections Greatest Hits – Through August 2025, third floor Reading Room, Madlyn L. Hanes Library. From the Alice K. Marshall Women's History Collection to the Three Mile Island Collection, the "Greatest Hits" showcases a wide range of materials that are on display in the Reading Room of Archives and Special Collections. It is available for viewing whenever the archives is open (Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and by appointment.
"State of Deception: The Power of Nazi Propaganda" – Through August 2025, first floor Linda Schwab Holocaust Gallery and Reading Room, Madlyn L. Hanes Library. In partnership with the Penn State Harrisburg Center for Holocaust and Jewish Studies and the Penn State Harrisburg School of Humanities, this poster exhibition is based on the U. S. Holocaust Memorial Museum's exhibition by the same name, which was produced in collaboration with the Holocaust and United Nations Outreach Program. The posters encourage viewers to "think about what propaganda is, how it works, and how to respond when it aims to divide people and promote violence," according to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
