“An Ordinary Hero” is an empowering tribute to the human spirit that aims to inspire people to do what is right even when it isn’t easy. By the time she was 23 years old, Joan Trumpauer Mulholland participated in over 50 sit-ins and demonstrations including the Freedom Rides, the Jackson Woolworth’s Sit-In, the March on Washington, the Meredith March and the Selma to Montgomery March.
She is the first white soror of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and Loki Mulholland is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Their foundation, the Joan Trumpauer Mulholland Foundation, has many civic-minded goals aimed at fighting against inequity and offers micro-scholarships for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
