MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg baseball player Kevin Lehner has been named the United East Male Senior Athlete of the Year. The highest individual honor the United East Conference bestows, the award represents the epitome of the student-athlete model, thanks to their high level of performance in their respective sport, in the classroom, and in their community.

Lehner was chosen from a pool of 10 men who earned United East Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors for their respective sports of competition in 2023-24.

Lehner will now represent the United East as the conference's men's nominee for the regional and national athlete of the year awards, which are presented by the Division III Commissioners Association.

A four-time NCAA Regional participant and three-time conference champion, Lehner earned numerous individual accolades over the years, including three all-region honors and three all-conference recognitions. In 2023, he was named first-team all-region by both D3baseball.com and the ABCA/Rawlings after securing second-team all-region recognition from the latter the year prior. He was named first-team all-conference each of the past two seasons after earning all-conference second team honors in 2022. During his junior year, he was named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week.

Lehner was also strong in the classroom during his career, earning a 3.51 cumulative GPA and graduating with a degree in civil engineering in May. He is a two-time United East Scholar-Athlete honoree and he was recently inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma student athlete honor society.

In the community, Lehner has volunteered at St. Matthew Catholic Church in his hometown, decorating for the holidays and serving as bible school crew leader. As a member of the baseball team, he helped set up facilities for indoor athletic events at the Net Sports Complex in Palmyra, Pa. As a team captain and engineering major, he also gave tours to prospective students at Penn State Harrisburg throughout his collegiate career.
