Harrisburg to hold Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Banquet on Jan. 15

The event is Penn State Harrisburg's inaugural celebration of King's life and legacy

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg will hold its inaugural Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Banquet at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The theme for the banquet, which will honor King’s life and legacy of service and social justice and recognize the impact of local community members, is “Champions for Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion: A Tribute to Leaders and Their Leadership.”

The program includes dinner, performances and entertainment, and a recognition of community leaders who are working to fulfill King’s dream of equitable futures for all, including Hettie Simmons Love, the first African American MBA graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and local civil rights icon Homer Floyd.
