I originally started at the University Park campus and transferred in my third year to the Harrisburg campus. It provided me with a more one-on-one experience that pushed me to do better. My adviser actually seemed to care about my degree and got me enthusiastic, telling me about other students in the past similar to myself that went on to manage fleets of vessels and have extremely successful careers (Thanks AB!). I went on to become the VP of Automation and OT for a natural gas and power generation company (that coincidentally had a fleet of vessels as well), then moved on to oversee a team of engineers performing upgrades to Nuclear Steam Supply Systems control systems globally. I chose engineering because I enjoy building things, seeing them go from concept to final product.

Penn State Harrisburg provided me an affordable opportunity to obtain my B.S. degree at a local campus which I otherwise would not have been able to pursue. Penn State Harrisburg prepared me with the foundation to meet real world experiences with confidence in my technical abilities and the collaboration skills I needed to excel to the top in my field of engineering. The EET program strengths reside in the Professors and Instructors that meet the balance of challenging students while providing the support and encouragement students need to achieve their full potential. Community at Penn State Harrisburg provides students the chance to find a place at home while experencing their sense of belonging to a worldwide community of Penn State Pride.

Penn State Harrisburg had an excellent engineering program with all the tools we needed to succeed. The department heads and professors has a wealth of knowledge and worked with you to help you succeed. My degree has allowed me to obtain a great career with many former alumni. The course that got me interested in engineering was digital circuits with AB. Once I took that class I knew this would be my major. I have nothing but great things to say about the college and the engineering program.

Penn State is known as a great school for engineering in my area. So going there for my degree is a must. The degree has help me advance in my professional career. All my professors were great and very helpful. They would sit down with me in their office hours to walk me through the problem. I had a wonderful experience at Penn State Harrisburg.

The EET program at the Harrisburg campus was absolutely outstanding! My student status at the Harrisburg campus had a positive impact on my job progression even while I was enrolled in the EET program. It is not possible to say how much professor Heydari and professor AB Shafaye enabled my success in the business world.

The engineering knowledge and hands-on lab experience I received from the Electrical Engineering Technology curriculum enabled me easily transition into a key contributor role and immediately be successful as a Test Engineer in a research organization. The critical thinking and problem solving skills were valuable in my understanding of voice and data communication systems and are still at the foundation of my engineering solutions in my current role of protecting critical infrastructure as a Cybersecurity subject matter expert.
