Information Systems (M.S.)
The Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) is a STEM-designated program that equips students with advanced technical, managerial, and analytical skills. Graduates learn to strategize, design, and manage IT initiatives that help organizations achieve business goals and gain a competitive edge.

STEM-Designated: Eligible MSIS graduates can earn an Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension for up to 36 months, helping them gain additional real-world skills and experiences

Complete the MSIS in one year!
The MSIS program offers classes in a way that allows students to complete the program in one year, taking 12 credits in each of the fall and spring semesters and two additional classes (6 credits) in the summer. Course selection depends on the student's prior computer programming background.
MSIS graduate assistantships available
Graduate assistantships are offered for fall and spring semesters for one year. All graduate assistants must be enrolled full-time (4 classes/12 credits) for both the fall and spring semesters.
Typical GA work duties include:
- Assisting faculty in research and special projects
- Laboratory instruction
- Tutoring undergraduate students
- Grading assignments
- Working on other academic unit initiatives
Note that MSIS candidates interested in being considered for an interview for graduate assistantship funding must apply to the program no later than March 1 for fall matriculation. The MSIS application serves as the Graduate Assistant application and competitive GRE or GMAT scores are required.
