‘National treasure’ performs on campus March 26

Called a "national treasure" by author and oral historian Studs Terkel, Anndrena Belcher brings her acclaimed storytelling performance to Penn State Harrisburg Monday, March 26.

Belcher’s two presentations are free and open to the public at 11 a.m. in the Olmsted Auditorium and at 6:15 p.m. in the Morrison Gallery of the campus library.

Two ‘Real World Philadelphia’ stars to appear on campus

Real World Philadelphia star Karamo will be bringing fellow MTV celebrity Landon with him when he visits Penn State Harrisburg Tuesday, March 20.

Karamo’s initial presentation on campus was canceled due to inclement weather on February 15 and the rescheduling permitted Landon to join him on March 20.

The presentation by the two will be from 9:15 to 10:45 p.m. in the Community Center of the housing complex on campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Faculty art work on exhibit March 19 through May 11

The works of seven Penn State Harrisburg art faculty members are on exhibit March 19 through May 11 in the Morrison Gallery of the college library.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Exhibiting are Corinne Edris, Judith Johnson, Catherine McCormick, Barbara Piscioneri, Linda Mylin Ross, Craig Welsh, and Sam Winch.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. For information, phone 717-948-6273.

Impact of mass incarceration topic of March 28 lecture

The U.S. prison system has seen a remarkable increase in the number of felons incarcerated. With that increase, has mass incarceration grown to become yet another problem facing impoverished communities?

One of the nation’s leading criminal justice scholars, Dr. Todd Clear, will address that question during a public presentation in Penn State Harrisburg’s Olmsted Auditorium at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 28.

Faculty seminar series to feature Dr. Richard Young

The next installment in the college Faculty Seminar Series hosted by the offices of Academic Affairs and Research and Graduate Studies will feature Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management Richard Young addressing "Benchmarking University Procurement Processes."

Dr. Young’s presentation will be Monday, March 5 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Gallery Lounge. A light lunch will be provided. The discussion is free and open to the public.

College hosting symposium on health care March 2

A public, day-long symposium to examine issues related to health care and quality of life in the region comes to Penn State Harrisburg Friday, March 2.

Co-sponsored by Penn State Harrisburg, Penn State Dickinson School of Law, and the Penn State College of Medicine, the gathering will bring together experts from academia, the medical professions, and the public sector.

Prints by Jean Sanders are on public exhibit in the Gallery Lounge of the Olmsted Building at Penn State Harrisburg through March 6.

The exhibit is free and open to the public from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5p.m. Friday.
