Ted Ackroyd from Mechanicsburg and the Nittany Lion enjoyed a fun moment during an OLLI Harrisburg Kickoff event on May 1. Ackroyd called the event “stimulating” and said he planned to become an OLLI member.

Penn State Harrisburg’s women’s tennis, men’s tennis, and men’s outdoor track and field teams all captured United East Conference Championship titles over the weekend.
Vahid Motevalli, interim vice chancellor of Academic Affairs for Penn State Harrisburg, was on hand to welcome OLLI to Harrisburg. He said, "It will be fantastic for our community.”
Jessie Pierce, executive director of the Pennsylvania Council on Aging, spoke about the importance of lifelong learning for people in Pennsylvania. She said, “this commonwealth is fortunate to have programs like OLLI and universities like Penn State that are willing to collaborate and create these opportunities for our older adult population.”
