Michael Fiaschetti, senior vice president of the Mid-Atlantic Region for Highmark Inc., is the Penn State Harrisburg chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma 2008 Distinguished Honoree.
With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in the health insurance industry, Fiaschetti earned an MBA from Penn State Harrisburg in 2004. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and has held his present position at Highmark since 1997.
Penn State Harrisburg Assistant Professor of Humanities and Art History/Visual Culture Robin Veder will deliver an invited lecture April 14 at Princeton University as part of its spring Architecture and Urbanism Lecture Series on the theme of “Gardening.”

Current and future undergraduate students at Penn State Harrisburg will benefit from a $100,000 gift to endow the Morrie Schwab/Phi Sigma Delta Sigma Educational Foundation Trustee Scholarship.
The family of the late Mr. Schwab, a well-known Harrisburg business leader, and the foundation joined together to create the gift.
Penn State Harrisburg Professor of Psychology Richard Foxx was the lone academic expert to offer testimony during a public hearing April 1 before the Pennsylvania Senate Banking and Insurance Committee on a bill to require private insurers to provide coverage for autism spectrum disorders up to $36,000 per year.
The bill (HB 1150) passed the Pennsylvania House previously by unanimous vote.

Books ranging from criminal justice issues, to sacred music, to terrorism were among those honored March 25 when Penn State Harrisburg honored 16 faculty members and a doctoral student at its annual Publishing Celebration.
Hosted by the college’s Office of Research and Graduate Studies, the annual event honors faculty, staff, and students whose works have been published in the past year.
Lee Mun Wah will host a public showing of his internationally acclaimed film, The Color of Fear 1, Tuesday, April 15 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Penn State Harrisburg.
The film showing and discussion with Wah is free and open to the public in the Community Center in the student housing complex on campus. The presentation is hosted by the college Office of Multicultural Recruitment and Intercultural Affairs with support from the Student Activity Fee Fund.
