Penn State Harrisburg has named alumnus Kevin Harter as the college’s first professor of practice. As such, Harter, the former chairman, president and CEO of Saladax Biomedical, Inc., will lead Penn State Harrisburg’s new entrepreneurial center. He will serve jointly in the School of Business Administration and the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology.
Data users from across the Commonwealth are set to gather at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg/Hershey for the Pennsylvania State Data Center’s (PaSDC) 2015 Data User Conference on Sept. 17. More than 350 buildings on campus are connected to and controlled by a building automation system, which uses a secure computer network to centralize the remote monitoring and control of electricity, lighting, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning and other environmental systems. Many Penn State campuses across the state, including Harrisburg, Altoona and Erie, The Behrend College, also use digital automation systems for managing building settings.
Penn State is now accepting applications for the online master’s degree in electrical engineering offered through Penn State World Campus. The program will be taught by engineering faculty from Penn State’s Harrisburg campus and the College of Engineering at University Park.
