Penn State Harrisburg faculty and staff discussed their works, published during the past year, recently at the college’s annual Creativity, Publishing, and Book Signing Celebration.
The event honored college community members and their collaborators whose recent works include publications on art, politics, education, culture and diversity.
The public administration doctoral program in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Public Affairs welcomed Dr. Özkan Leblebici as a post-doctoral visiting scholar from Ankara, Turkey in January. He is hosted by Dr. Göktuğ Morçöl, professor of public administration.
Galit Hasan-Rokem will present “The Wandering Jew Between Folk Legend and Modern Literary Imagination” as part of the Penn State Harrisburg Center for Holocaust and Jewish Studies speaker series, on Tuesday, March 15 at noon in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge.
Penn State Harrisburg has been awarded $77,250 from the Dauphin County Commissioners to develop a website that would provide streamlined information on heroin and opiate prevention and treatment services in Dauphin County. The project, in partnership with Dauphin County Drug & Alcohol Services, will make it easier for those seeking information by narrowing and organizing a multitude of local resources into an easy, convenient, user-friendly format.

They say sometimes it’s the little things. Penn State Harrisburg’s Student Emergency Assistance Fund is designed for just that – helping students with the little things – and sometimes even the big ones – that can prevent them from graduating. Maybe it’s money for a car repair so a commuter can get to campus or for groceries to get a student through to the semester’s end.
Students will have an opportunity to meet informally with Chancellor Mukund Kulkarni on Thursday, March 3 during “Chancellor's Open Hours.” The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Atrium. Join Chancellor Kulkarni for light refreshments.
