Events and activities honoring the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. will be held over the next few weeks at several Penn State campuses. The theme for 2025 is "Change Continues With Us."
In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Humanities, the Kulkarni Cultural Arts Series, and Sankofa African American Theatre Company will present “The Call of the Crusades,” an original play written by award-winning playwright Sharia Benn. Penn State Harrisburg students also assisted with the writing of the play and will contribute to the cast.
External investments in research at Penn State Harrisburg help position the college to engage in more groundbreaking research efforts that will have lasting regional, national and global impacts. Here Olivia Lowe, mechanical engineering student, examines a marine sponge, searching for spicules to be evaluated by a scanning electron microscope as part of research conducted by Fariborz Tavangarian, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, on the potential for spicules to be used in human bone tissue engineering and other applications.
Penn State Harrisburg hosted its fall 2024 commencement ceremony on Dec. 21 to mark the graduates of the Class of 2024’s completion of their academic experience and to recognize their many accomplishments.
