Harrisburg first-generation students ‘build a path for others to follow’

Penn State Harrisburg recently held events to celebrate first-generation students, connect them with resources, and help them meet first-generation faculty and staff who are available to help them. First-generation students Juan Serrano and Raulybel Perez worked with a committee of Student Affairs staff members to plan the events.

Penn State Harrisburg to raise support for student initiatives on GivingTuesday

Penn State will celebrate its ninth GivingTuesday on Tuesday, Nov. 28 — and Penn State Harrisburg invites alumni and friends to participate by showing support for critical student-focused initiatives that address basic needs, along with the college’s athletic teams and campus organizations that foster student learning and opportunities outside the classroom.

Class of 2024 votes to establish the UPUA Basic Needs Endowment

At an event held on Oct. 31, leaders from the Student Philanthropy Network announced that the class of 2024 has voted to create the University Park Undergraduate Association Basic Needs Endowment as their class gift. The fund will provide sustained support for students facing hardships in pursuit of their degree.
