Young writers eager to practice their storytelling will discover new tools this summer at Penn State Harrisburg’s Young Writers Academy, June 24-28, from 9:00 a.m. until noon on campus. Registration is now open.

Meister, professor of education and chair of the college’s Teacher Education programs, will discuss research from her paper, “Experienced Secondary Teachers’ Perceptions of Engagement and Effectiveness: A Guide for Professional Development” on April 10 at noon in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge. The presentation is open to the public.

Penn State Harrisburg will host an Undergraduate Open House on Saturday, April 13 at 9:00 a.m. in the Capital Union Building.

Portions of College Avenue and O Street will close on Friday, April 5 while a manhole and sewer line are installed as part of the Educational Activities Building (EAB) expansion. The roads are expected to reopen on Wednesday, April 10.
In an ongoing effort to bring greater awareness to sexual violence and child abuse, several Penn State events are being held during the month of April, which has been designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month.
A commemorative bench has been purchased in memory of Dr. Howard Sachs, former professor of biology, educator, administrator, scientist, and friend of Penn State Harrisburg. Dr. Sachs served the college from 1987 to 2011. He died in 2011.
