Penn State Harrisburg will hold its fall commencement on Saturday, December 20 at 9:30 a.m. at the Giant Center, Hershey. More than 580 degrees will be conferred at the ceremony.
William M. Stout, chairman of the board and CEO of Gannett Fleming, Inc., will deliver the keynote address. He was elected chairman and CEO in January 2008, making him responsible for all operations of Gannett Fleming and its subsidiaries.
Penn State Harrisburg will offer a new biology baccalaureate degree. The program, which will offer degree options in general biology and developmental biology, is currently enrolling students and will begin spring 2015.
Dr. Ozge Aybat, assistant professor of marketing in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Business Administration, will present “Feedback on Task Completion: Do We All Appreciate this Information” on Wednesday, December 10 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.
Penn State Harrisburg will present an Academic Perspective on Currents Events panel titled “K-12 Outreach to Enhance the STEM Pipeline” on Wednesday, December 3, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.
As part of Penn State Harrisburg’s Center for Holocaust and Jewish Studies speaker series, Benjamin Schachter, professor of visual arts at Saint Vincent College, will have a gallery opening and discussion on Tuesday, December 2 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the library Morrison Gallery on campus.
In October, the Continuous Improvement Commission of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation continued the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accreditation for teacher education programs in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Behavioral Sciences and Education.
Penn State Harrisburg was recently honored by the Penn State Alumni Association during the Annual Volunteer Awards Dinner on October 24 at University Park.
