Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) are fundamental to the University’s values and mission to support all community members. Penn State Harrisburg shares these values and mission with a commitment to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment that promotes the feeling of belonging for all our community – students, staff, and faculty. To that end, the college has established numerous groups to help accomplish these goals.

The Council on Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity (CORED)

CORED serves as an advisory and consultative body to the Chancellor, providing college leadership with innovative, evidence-informed recommendations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Additionally, it works to identify barriers that inhibit the full inclusion and advancement of faculty, staff, and students from underrepresented and/or underserved populations.

The International Students Office

Each year, Penn State Harrisburg becomes the home of hundreds of international students from several dozen different countries. The International Student Office houses the International Student Advisers and provides support services for international students in matters relating to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) paperwork, social, and cultural issues.

Diversity and Educational Equity Committee (DEEC)

The DEEC aims to create and engage in activities cultivating a safe and supportive campus community that values diversity and fosters good citizenship. It strives to improve communication and encourage respect within its interdependent campus communities by enhancing the development of relationship skills and providing opportunities to share experiences and diverse perspectives among members of the college community.
