Four Penn State Harrisburg students will join hundreds of other Penn State students to dance at THON, the annual dance marathon held to benefit children and families impacted by childhood cancer.
Shirley Clark, acting director of the School of Science Engineering and Technology at Penn State Harrisburg, and James Hunter, interim chair and associate professor of civil engineering at Morgan State University, will give the talk, “Challenges of Historic Urban Land Development and Soil Water Disturbance on Urban Stormwater Management,” at 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12.

The last week of February 2024 still offers a few events across campuses for Black History Month, including at Penn State Brandywine, Harrisburg, Dickinson Law, Lehigh Valley, Shenango, and York. In addition, several exhibits are still available to visitors at Penn State University Park, Brandywine and Harrisburg.
The Center for Holocaust and Jewish Studies at Penn State Harrisburg will host historian Rebecca Erbelding for a presentation at noon on Thursday, Jan. 25, via webinar. In her talk, titled “Rescue Board: The Untold Story of America's Efforts to Save the Jews of Europe,” Erbelding will discuss the 1944 creation of the War Refugee Board and its attempts to rescue victims of the Nazi regime.
Penn State Harrisburg will host its 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. commemorative banquet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey. The event's theme — "Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?" — is based on King’s 1967 book of the same name, which advocated for human rights and a sense of hope.

Penn State Harrisburg will hold its fall 2023 commencement ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Giant Center in Hershey. Vice president of emergency services for the Mount Sinai Health System and Penn State alumnus Robin Ferrer will serve as keynote speaker at the ceremony.
