Penn State Harrisburg alums Doug Knull and Evelyn Toro Knull donated a bronze bust of Oliver LaGrone, an African American sculptor, poet and educator, that was sculpted by Ruth Fackler Sourbeer, an artist and Doug Knull’s grandmother. The bust is now on display in the Oliver LaGrone Cultural Arts Center, in the college’s Olmsted Building.

Penn State Harrisburg’s Kulkarni Cultural Arts Series, in partnership with the Harrisburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, will present a screening of the film “An Ordinary Hero: The True Story of Joan Trumpauer Mulholland,” at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23.

The winning picture in the 2025 Penn State Today winter photo contest was submitted by Dom Feola, marketing specialist in Penn State Outreach. The picture shows Jane, the resident sandhill crane at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center.
Emily Getz, a cook for Housing and Food Services at Penn State Harrisburg, earned first place in the Mid-Atlantic region at the National Association of College and University Food Services 2025 Culinary Challenge, taking home an American Culinary Foundation gold medal for the dish she prepared.
