Editor's note: The Commonwealth Campus conversation scheduled for Oct. 24 at Penn State Harrisburg has been postponed to allow more time for learnings to be shared and recommendations to be developed as part of the Future State Integrated Design Initiative. Postponing the event until additional information from this process is available will help to inform a more fulsome conversation about future plans for the Commonwealth Campuses, according to Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses and Executive Chancellor Margo DelliCarpini.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Commonwealth Campus employees and students are invited to attend an upcoming conversation hosted by Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses and Executive Chancellor Margo DelliCarpini, Interim Executive Vice President and Provost Tracy Langkilde, and other University leaders on Oct. 24. The meeting will offer a chance for dialogue and a Q&A session centered on the University's transformation and the efforts to develop sustainable plans and strategies for the future of the Commonwealth Campuses.

The meeting will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Mukund S. Kulkarni Theatre at Penn State Harrisburg and will be available for members of all Commonwealth Campuses to participate in virtually. To help guide the conversation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions live during the session, both in person and virtually, in addition to submitting questions in advance using this form. All members of the Penn State community are invited to attend, including those at University Park, but the conversation will focus on the Commonwealth Campuses.

The conversation will build upon the recent state of the University update and the discussion President Neeli Bendapudi hosted at Penn State Altoona during the spring 2024 semester.

"As we move forward in shaping the future of our campuses, I want to facilitate ongoing dialogue and provide space for our community to ask questions about the actions we're taking to build a sustainable model for the Commonwealth Campuses,” DelliCarpini said. “I hope this conversation will shed light on our progress, and I look forward to maintaining a strong relationship with our campuses as we continue to work together."

The conversation, which will be moderated by Langkilde, will feature DelliCarpini; Ron Darbeau, associate vice president for Commonwealth Campuses and chancellor of Penn State Altoona; Megan Nagel, regional chancellor of Penn State Fayette, Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State New Kensington; and Elizabeth Wright, regional chancellor of Penn State Hazleton, Penn State Scranton and Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi also will be in attendance and provide remarks.
