Penn State Harrisburg to host 50th NEDSI annual conference virtually

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The 2021 Northeast Decision Sciences Institute (NEDSI) annual conference, hosted by Penn State Harrisburg, will be held virtually March 26-27, 2021. This year’s conference theme is “Harnessing Analytics for Enhancing Healthcare & Business.”

Nick Divan, senior director of financial planning & analysis at D&H Distributing, will serve as keynote speaker at the conference. D&H Distributing is one of America’s largest private companies in the distribution industry.  Divan’s career spans over 25 years where he has held various positions in IT distribution, banking, healthcare and public accounting. He is a certified CPA and holds an MBA in financial markets from SUNY at Buffalo, as well as a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Call for Papers

NEDSI is calling for submission of full papers and abstracts via the conference’s submission website. Undergraduate students may submit proposals for poster sessions. Accepted papers will be published in the online conference proceedings. All papers, abstracts, and undergraduate posters must be submitted electronically on or before Jan. 16, 2021, via the conference website. Proposals for workshops or roundtable discussions, should be emailed to the program chair, Dinesh R. Pai, associate professor of supply chain management in the School of Business Administration.

NEDSI is one of five regions in the Americas Division of the professional society, the Decision Sciences Institute. This region encompasses the Northeastern United States. NEDSI holds an annual regional meeting each spring that features presentations of original research papers; doctorate and new faculty development seminars; a placement service; case writing; and other interesting innovations in the fields of accounting; business education; finance; hotel and restaurant management; management; marketing; MIS/DSS/Expert Systems and information technology; organizational behavior; operations management; strategic management; and supply chain management, among others. Awards for “Best Paper” in several categories are given each year.
