Penn State Harrisburg is inviting the college community to travel the world during “World Fest,” beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, which intends to encourage global interaction and celebrate the vitality of the college’s diverse campus community.

There will be a Studying Abroad Panel (Pre-Departure) Discussion from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Olmsted Building (W107) Gallery Lounge on campus. Study tour students and global ambassadors will be on the panel to share their cross-cultural study abroad experiences and discuss significant challenges.

On Friday, October 5 starting at 11 a.m., the Tour of the World event offers an opportunity for the campus community to virtually “travel” around the world. The first 300 participants will receive a “passport” on Vartan Plaza, then head to different travel spots around campus. If there is inclement weather, students can receive their passport in the Capital Union Building. The first fifty visitors who tour twenty countries will receive a World Fest prize. The first twenty-five travelers who complete the tour of thirty countries before 2 p.m. will receive a World Fest souvenir.

The evening activities on Friday, October 5, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Mukund S. Kulkarni Theatre, Student Enrichment Center, will include a parade representing 50 countries and traditional international performances.

This event is sponsored by the Global Ambassadors Program, International Affairs Association/Rotaract Club, and the Student Activity Fee.
