The homeland security minor introduces students to homeland security issues including national policy, the basic structure of the homeland security enterprise and emergency management. Students will learn how stakeholders within the homeland security enterprise prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from anthropogenic (human-made) and natural disasters in a multijurisdictional and multifunctional environment.
The minor is open to current Penn State undergraduate students who meet the prerequisites, and is most useful to those majoring in criminal justice, political science, law and society, nursing or organizational leadership.
