MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg’s Schools of Humanities, Public Affairs, and Science, Engineering, and Technology will host visiting scholars for the 2017-18 academic year.
The School of Humanities is hosting Wenhong Luo, assistant curator at the Yunnan Nationalities Museum, Kunming, China. While working with the faculty of Penn State Harrisburg, she will continue her work on contemporary art, material culture and textile arts. Additionally, she will offer a presentation titled “Studying China’s Art Underworlds” from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.
The School of Public Affairs will host visiting doctoral fellow Xing Zhang, intern with Xiamen University, Xiamen, Fujian, China. While at Penn State Harrisburg, he will conduct research with Younhee Kim, associate professor of public administration, and Michele Tantardini, assistant professor of public administration, on the "Effects of Performance Management in Chinese Government: Based on Comparison and Reflection of Practical Experience Between China and the United States."
The School of Science, Engineering, and Technology will host Fuyang Jiang, research associate with Guilin University of Technology, People’s Republic of China. He will conduct a research project on drinking water quality and treatment under the supervision of Yuefeng Xie, professor of environmental engineering. He also is completing a comparative study of graduate education between the United States and China.
