Carolina Hernández holds awards she received, including the Athletic Service Award for fundraising efforts she organized with the Alzheimer’s Association, her letterman for being an athlete for four years, and awards for being inducted into the athletic honor society and being an Student Athlete Leadership Council member.
Gurleen Grewal will be graduating from Penn State Harrisburg with a bachelor of science in criminal justice. She shares what her educational journey was like as a first-generation college student during a global pandemic, saying, “As a first-generation college student, my journey through higher education has been a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of seizing every opportunity that comes my way.”
Nick Spohn, who will graduate at the spring 2024 commencement ceremony at Penn State Harrisburg with a bachelor of science degree in project and supply chain management, said that due to his blindness, his college experience was challenging. But that didn’t stop him from achieving his academic goals.
Carolina Hernández, who will be graduating from Penn State Harrisburg in May 2024, chose to study psychology because she wants to work with dementia patients and their families. Her motivation comes from the death of her grandmother from Alzheimer’s disease when Hernández was in high school.
