For its 13th Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration at Penn State Harrisburg, PenOwl Productions presents The Dinner Guest, a new twist on the classic play Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, rescheduled due to inclement weather for Monday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Capital Union Building Student Center.  The event is free and open to the public.

Award-winning writer and photographer to speak March 21

Ruth Ellen Gruber will visit Penn State Harrisburg March 21 to discuss Jewish life in Eastern Europe today.  The lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Morrison Gallery, Library.  Gruber’s exhibit, Remnants and Renaissance: Photographs by Ruth Ellen Gruber of Europe’s Jewish Heartland will be on display through May 1 in the college library’s Schwab Family Holocaust Reading Room.

Senior pastor urges: “wake up and dream”

Dr. Lance Watson echoed the dream of Martin Luther King Jr. during a recent presentation at Penn State Harrisburg, advocating for equality, peace, and for Americans to come together.

Watson’s March 1 presentation was part of the Penn State Harrisburg 2011 Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Lecture Series. The senior pastor of St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, Va., Watson addressed the series topic, “A Socio-cultural Awakening: Rise Up!”

International and Intercultural Photo Contest begins March 1

Attention world travelers, international students, and amateur photographers! 

The International and Intercultural Photography Contest is looking for your best photos of other countries and cultures in four categories – people, scenic, urban life, and wildlife and nature – to help foster greater understanding of the world’s nations and people.   

Register today for diversity summit

Register today for the College Student Diversity Summit to be held March 25 in the Penn State Harrisburg Capital Union Building. The registration deadline is March 4; advance registration is required and seating is limited. The event is free for students, faculty, and staff of the sponsoring institutions: Penn State Harrisburg, Messiah College, Harrisburg Area Community College, and the Dauphin County Diversity Forum.
